Loetz Phänomen Genre 85/3839 Iridescent Art Nouveau Glass Shade and Lamp by Ernst Georg Zimmerman of Germany
The shade is a Koloman Moser design for Bakalowits circa 1901, and its decor is known as Loetz Phänomen Genre 85/3839. It reminds one of inverted waves and bubbles with warm gold and maroon tones interrupted by floating iridescent oil spots.
The grotesque cast iron Art Nouveau base was identified by its hallmarks. The foundry was Ernst Georg Zimmerman of Hanau, Germany, established in 1842 and remained operational till 2010. They are famous for their fine and delicate cast iron and brass products which even reached the Czar's court in Moscow.
Overall height is 15" tall. The lamp is fully wired and is in excellent working condition.
