This is a double picture frame pendant, made with 14K gold, using 6 natural turquoise cabochons (3 on each side) and 4 seed pearls (2 on each side). There are 3 plates in total, 2 with picture frames on one side (plain on the other side), and a cover plate. All 3 are hand-engraved on each side, and open on a swivel to reveal the insides. The picture frames have the original gold bezels and plastic covers (slightly scuffed, could be replaced), measuring 16mm tall by 12.5mm wide (5/8" by 1/2"). The whole pendant measures 1&1/2" tall by
just over 3/4" wide (21mm), and weighs 7.0 grams. It is not marked, and has been acid-tested as 14K yellow gold. There is some slight wear around the edges on the outside, otherwise, the item is in pristine condition. The turquoise and seed pearls show some wear and aging. This pendant is circa 1860, and is completely hand-made. The engraving is very clear and in superb condition. This is truly a rare item.
