A piece I've had in my private collection of exquisite Victorian doll accessories since 1985, this amazing muff is one of the BEST piece I have ever handled. Clearly an accessory that belongs in a museum, it has been well kept and is a fabulous piece of Victorian history. A style first established in the Imperial Russian Court, Europe became quite fond of Ermine accessories during the Belle Epoch, but I have never quite seen a muff such as this which mixes silky white ermine fur and tails with long, luxurious mohair! Perfect for a large doll or Victorian clothing display, this beauty will certainly please!
Condition: This muff is in beautiful shape for its age, however, the cream colored silk lining has detached from one side of the muff. I have reattached the right ermine tail as it needed reinforcement, and also reinforced the other side professionally so that it lasts for years to come. You will not be disappointed with this gorgeous piece!
