Take a close look: imagine your most prized bisque doll, standing gorgeous and tall with this elegant coat draped about her frame! A lovely antique piece, this dark olive coat is a lovely, supple wool, excellently capturing the look of a fashionable article of clothing worn by an equally-fashionable lady for the colder months. Upon further inspection, this deep and subtle olive color is obtained by an expert heather mixture of green and tan strands, yielding a rich and realistic color found only in the best antique doll clothes. Thin black pinstripes are spaced 1/2 inches apart, running vertically down the length of the coat, accented with thin five line stitching in a rich crimson on the bottom and along the front opening. The sleeves and fold-over rounded collar are accented with an absolutely gorgeous and rich plum-colored silk velvet, also found on the half-belt on the back, secured with two black mother of pearl flat sew-through buttons. Hidden hook closures secure the front of the coat, with the two-by-two set of mother of pearl buttons on the front implicating a faux double-breasted closure, creating a lovely impression and presentation.
Measurements: Top to Bottom-- 15" Sleeve Length-- 7.5" Sleeve Diameter -- 2" Chest Width - 7.5" Shoulder to Shoulder--5"
Condition: Fabulous preserved antique quality! This excellent piece looks to have been mostly untouched, with only two minor moth holes in the right sleeve (one in the front, a smaller one in back), each no bigger than 3/4 of a centimeter. It's fine, tight-knit structure gives it a supple yet sturdy feel to the touch, just right to complete the perfect presentation on a fabulous doll. My expert recommendation is this: don't put this on just any doll -- reserve it for your best, most prized sweetheart! It will demand attention from those who examine your collection cabinet!
