Small scale sample and doll accessory corsets were often made the apprentice of a department store Corsetiere, as practice for the larger human scale versions, and it is clear that this particular piece was made in just the same manner as a large scale corset. It is not a doll factory piece, and might have even been a custom commission from the family seamstress; for while there are no bones in the boning channels, it is clear to see that it was made with the utmost care and attention to detail out of real Victorian corset coutil, while most factory corsets were muslin or common cottons. The fact that it is a fashionable overbust also suggests that it was a custom piece. We are indeed quite lucky that it does not have bones as so often we find that the bones rust through the channels, but there is not a stain or tear on this beauty to speak of.
Overbust--11" Waist--10" Hips--11.5"
Condition: Excellent. Not a single problem overall. The elastic in the garter stays has slackened a bit, but other than that, it is in perfect original condition. Don't miss this singular accessory! Just a gem!
