Lovely Rare 16” Closed-Mouth DEP in Pink Dress

It is with great pleasure that I present to you, this wonderful closed-mouth DEP bebe. After just one look at her dewy complexion, gorgeous blue paperweight eyes, and delicately pointed chin, I can guarantee you will be in love at first sight, or as the French would say, "Le Coup de Foudre!" She is dressed in a gorgeous pastel pink dress with a simple yet lovely black embroidered bodice and a matching hat; that reminds me of a yummy patisserie! The result of both French and German parentage, she is an exquisite beauty deserving of a place of honor in any collection.

She has a bisque socket head with deep blue glass paperweight eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, feathered and textured brown brows, a closed mouth, and pierced ears. She stands at 16” tall on her original fully jointed wood and composition body, and wears an antique blond human hair wig styled in curls with bangs.

She is dressed in a vintage brushed pastel pink cotton dress with black velvet ribbon bows at the cuffs and collar, two swoops of black embroidery down the bodice, a gathered waist and a scalloped lace collar. Underneath, she wears an antique white cotton half slip, chemise, and pair of pantaloons, all with matching lace trim. On her feet are a pair of white net socks and antique german made black oil cloth and tan leather shoes. On her head is a lace hat with a pink lining and gathered lace brim. This ensemble is so sweet, it reminds me of a little strawberry cupcake!

MARKS: DEP / 4 [incised, back of head]

CONDITION: Excellent. The bisque head is free of any cracks, chips, hairlines, or restoration, and features top quality painting and modeling of a classic dolly face. The blue glass eyes are aligned well in the head, and are shiny with a deep blue color. The original body has areas of age wear, but retains much of its original shiny finish. The costume is good, with some areas of age wear. A rarer doll, she commands a lot of respect for her loveliness and poise! A really adorable charmer in a lovely costume and perfect display-ready condition. Don't let this be the beauty that got away!
