We have here a lovely antique dinner service, perfect for those curio collectors, or gatherers of old toys. This set is a wonderful accessory for your dolls, and makes a gorgeous alternative to a tea party set. It works wonderfully for a fancy dinner party, and the wicker print of the case and the badminton print on the menus make it suitable for a picnic lunch as well! The set includes all the table settings needed for a meal for four, including two bottles of wine for your lady dolls!
The dimensions of the box are 14 1/2" x 10" x 3.

The box is constructed of wood and cardboard, with a green and brown basket-weave print, and two red stripes wrapping all the way around the case, with small metal handles and a latch. The inside is solid green, with a white ribbon on the side to keep the lid upright, and red ties holding the pieces securely to the box, some of which have red ribbon bows. The box contains four sets of silverware, a fork and a spoon, in soft silvertone metal, a set of ceramic dishes glazed white with a dark blue scalloping and flower pattern, consisting of four small plates, three large bowls, two smaller bowls, and two serving dishes, four blue-tinted fluted glasses, four white napkins with a pink floral pattern folded in a fan shape, two glass wine bottles labeled “Malaga” and “Bourdeaux”, and four paper menus printed in pink with a picture of two people playing badminton.
CONDITION: The case has extensive wear, particularly at the edges and corners, and extensive fading to the red stripes on the lid. The sides are warped, especially on the lid. The inside is in generally excellent condition, with very little wear or discoloration to the lining paper. The string ties are all intact, and hold the dishes securely in place. There are no chips or cracks to the ceramic and glass dishware, but they have some minor inherent manufacturing flaws, and age wear in the form of heavy dust and some wear to the blue glaze. The paper label on the bordeaux bottle is worn and discolored from age. The silverware has some warping, particularly the tines of the forks, but they are made of very soft metal and can be easily carefully manipulated back into shape. Two of the paper menus have some tearing, and one has been taped back together. The other two have some creasing. The cloth napkins are in excellent condition. Overall, an excellent collection piece full of wonderful antique items!
*Please note that the price shown for this item was calculated by factoring in the item’s condition carefully. The item’s condition is described fully in the "Condition" paragraph above. Any damage or flaws are carefully evaluated as to the manner in which they may reduce the retail value of this item. Unless there is some major issue we overlooked in the condition report, we decline to entertain any proposals for price reductions due to a less than perfect condition report. Most items that are over 100 years old will have encountered issues over the years and perfection is rare when it comes to antiques.
