She has a bisque socket head, with painted and molded features: original dark blue glass sleep eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, real upper lashes, feathered brown brows, and an open mouth with four upper teeth. She has a pale complexion, with selectively-blushed features. She stands at 24” tall on her original fully-jointed antique wood and composition body, and is topped with a blond human hair wig, worn straight and shoulder-length with bangs.
She wears a sweet antique white cotton dress, with white tape lace overlay on the skirt, and a large lace capelet at the lace-trimmed collar, with the same lace on the sleeves, and a pink silk sash at the waist. Underneath, she wears an antique white cotton half slip with tucks above the hem, an antique white flannel undershirt, and a pair of antique white cotton pantaloons with lace trim. On her feet are a pair of white knit socks and vintage white leather shoes. On her head is a pink silk bow.
MARKS: Pansy / IV [back of head, incised]
CONDITION: The bisque head is free of any hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration, with top quality modeling and painting of features; there is, however, a small factory cut at the corner of her mouth, and some of the painted lower lashes have darkened. Her original glass eyes sit well aligned in the head, and sleep well. Her original wood and composition body is good, with minor age-related wear, mainly at the fingertips. The antique dress has some tearing and wear, much of which is hidden by the lace capelet, and the fabric is very thin and delicate, and the rest of her costume is in good condition. The wig is newly made. Altogether a lovely presentation
