She has a bisque socket head with beautiful modeling and expert painting, with blue glass sleep eyes, framed by painted upper and lower lashes, feathered brown brows, and an open mouth with four upper teeth, a slightly dimpled chin, and pierced ears. She stands at 18” on a stamped Heinrich Handwerck lady body, with a narrow waist and slender limbs and molded bosom, and she wears a ginger human hair wig recently curled in lovely banana curls.
She wears a gorgeous pale grey silk dress, fitted to her sculpted torso and hemmed at the knee. The bodice features a middle panel of cream-colored lace overlay down the front, bordered by cord braid and white mother of pearl buttons on either side, with cream lace overlay on the cuffs of the sleeves. The waist features short lappets over a short white lace overskirt and pleated skirt. Underneath, she wears a white cotton full slip and white cotton panties. On her feet are a pair of antique cream-colored stockings and modern pale grey leather shoes, with cream edging and rosettes. On her head is an exquisite vintage hat, covered in cream-colored lace, with pink ribbon, blue cord braid, and silk flowers around the crown, and around her neck is a string of faux pearl beads.

CONDITION: The bisque head has an old hairline on the forehead, with some isolated specks, but is otherwise free of cracks, chips, or restoration, and has gorgeous, pale bisque with expert and delicate painting of features, crisp and deep modeling of an absolutely gorgeous face, and pleasant, subtle color. The glass eyes sleep well, with great pupil alignment but some of the wax lid on the right eyeball is worn off (see the "sleep" photo). Her arms are antique replacements, and the rest of her wood and composition body has minor and expected age wear, but mostly retains its original shiny finish. Her costume is in excellent condition, with amazing presentation. Do not let her pass you by!
*Please note that the price shown for this doll was calculated by factoring in the doll’s condition carefully. The doll’s condition is described fully in the "Condition" paragraph above. Any damage or flaws are carefully evaluated as to the manner in which they may reduce the retail value of this item. Unless there is some major issue we overlooked in the condition report, we decline to entertain any proposals for price reductions due to a less than perfect condition report. Most dolls that are over 100 years old will have encountered issues over the years and perfection is rare when it comes to antiques.
