Which one of your darling bebes is ready for a spectacular new corset? This corset comes from c.1880, so it is fitting for any of your prized dolls! It is made from eye-catching red silk and black lace, making it a head-turning piece to display on its own, in addition to being a wonderful foundation piece for one of your lucky dolls. This is one piece you cannot pass up if you collect fine corsets for your ladies. As the years go on, pieces like these become rarer and rarer as they undergo the test of time, and a rare example like this will make a most prized piece for any bebe.
It is made of red silk, and lined with pink silk, with black lace trim with red insertion ribbon at the top and bottom. The red and pink silk straps are thin at the front and thick at the back, with a hook and eye adjustable strap between the shoulder straps at the back. It is spiral-laced with a red cord through 20 metal eyelets, attached to the corset at one end with a metal aglet at the other. The corset has channeling details, hip and bust gores, and elasticated maroon suspender straps with mother of pearl buttons on the ends.
11 1/2” waist
12 1/2” chest
3 1/2”-4 ¾” height
Condition: Generally excellent. The corset is sturdily constructed, and wonderfully and realistically detailed. The silk and lace are in excellent condition; there is some melting and tearing to the pink lining. The elastic in the suspender straps has worn out, and has some residue. The cord and eyelets are all intact, present, and in excellent condition. This is an excellent corset for your finest bebe!
This corset is modeled on a gorgeous 21” Steiner “Le Petit Parisien,” who is available to purchase *separately*!

**We now ship EVERY SINGLE ONE of our antique costume pieces in archival, museum quality, acid free tissue paper. We store them in an acid free, climate controlled environment, because we want you to get a textile that has been frozen in time. As curators of these antiques, we want them to be as fresh for the next generation of students and enthusiasts as they were for us. This is factored into the price of our merchandise. We hope you can enjoy these rare finds for years to come, and we want to make sure that when they reach you, they are ready for careful love and display if you so chose, or to be stored in a destruction-free paper. Happy shopping!** LBP 5/29/20
