When I think of character German dolls, such a treasure as this comes to mind. An outstanding example of the character children made in the early 20th century by the illustrious Gebruder Heubach firm. This beautiful little girl with her sweet inquisitive expression and closed mouth will absolutely delight you. She has a sweet yet somber expression, desirable blue sleep eyes, and desirable bitter-sweet pouty lips! Her bisque head is flawless and has a depth of color that only the best Heubach dolls possess by virtue of the pink tinted bisque that this firm often used as a base bisque for their heads. And her sweet costume is reminiscent of an innocent childhood of the 1910s from which she hails. What a sweet delight she is!
If you are a collector of rare Heubach character dolls, I can assure you that such an amazing example of this rare mold will NOT be here long, so act fast if you have to have her. She is available on our layaway plan if you want to buy her on a budget and stretch your payments for up to eight months! Call us at 718-859-0901 for further details on this special antique character doll or to set up a layaway plan.
She has a desirable pink bisque socket head with her original watery blue sleep eyes with painted upper and lower lashes, feathered brown, and a closed pouty mouth and full cheeks. She stands at 21” on her original fully jointed wood and composition body, and wears a French Bravot strawberry blond human hair wig, styled with bangs and long curls.
She is dressed in an antique white cotton dress, fully decorated with whitework embroidery, with an all-over motif resembling a fleur-de-lis, and a Greek key and floral motif at the hem and sleeves. The dress also features scalloped hems, lace trim at the collar, and pink insertion ribbon at the sleeves, hem, and waist, with a bow tied to the side of the waist. Underneath, she wears an antique white cotton full slip, with lace trim and a square neckline, and a pair of white cotton pantaloons with lace trim. On her feet are a pair of white knit socks, and antique cream-colored oilcloth shoes with metal buckles. On her head, she wears an antique pink silk bonnet, decorated with pink tucks and a ruffled brim.
