She has a bisque socket head, with painted and molded features: brown glass sleep eyes, feathered brown brows, painted upper and lower lashes, an open mouth with two upper teeth, and a slightly dimpled chin. She is on an antique wood and composition body, fully-jointed, with the original finish. She wears a brown human hair wig, styled in pulled-back sausage curls and bangs.
She wears a sweet antique white cotton dress, with the same gorgeous pattern of windowpane drawn-work and delicate whitework embroidery at the hem of the skirt, at the waist of the bodice, at the ends of the sleeves, and on the ruffled collarette. Underneath, she wears an antique white cotton full slip, with two stripes of inset lace and lace trim on the skirt, and a pair of antique white cotton pantaloons with lace trim, worn high. On her feet are a pair of white knit socks and white leather shoes. On her head is a sheer white bonnet, with lace trim and delicate pale pink, pale blue, and white embroidery on the brim, with white flower-like bows and white ties.
MARKS: I / Made in Germany / 10 [back of head, incised]
CONDITION: Generally Excellent! Her bisque head is free of any hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration, with top-quality modeling and painting of features. Her brown glass sleep eyes have good pupil alignment, and the painting and detailing to the bisque is crisp and colorful. The body has some areas of wear to the original finish. The costume is in excellent condition and presents well!
*Please note that the price shown for this doll was calculated by factoring in the doll’s condition carefully. The doll’s condition is described fully in the "Condition" paragraph above. Any damage or flaws are carefully evaluated as to the manner in which they may reduce the retail value of this item. Unless there is some major issue we overlooked in the condition report, we decline to entertain any proposals for price reductions due to a less than perfect condition report. Most dolls that are over 100 years old will have encountered issues over the years and perfection is rare when it comes to antiques.
