Made circa 1900 in Germany by Simon & Halbig and marketed in France because the flirting eye mechanism was inserted in the head in France as the French flirting eyes are different than the German flirting eyes. Often, this head is found on a French body. The collaboration between the SFBJ and Simon & Halbig is well documented to have existed during the SFBJ period post 1899. She has a bisque socket head made by Simon & Halbig on a fully jointed Simon & Halbig body. She has dark brown flirty eyes with painted lower lashes and string upper lashes, multi stroke and molded brows, open mouth with four upper teeth, pierced ears with antique glass bead earrings, Original brown mohair wig plus a lovely blond modern synthetic wig set in banana curls.

She wears a nurse’s costume, consisting of an antique blue and white cotton dress with white cuffs on the sleeves and a white collar , a crisp white antique pinafore with an antique red cross enamel pin, and a white cotton cap with three tin red cross antique pins. Underneath, she wears a pair of antique white cotton pantaloons and an antique half slip with copious white on white hand embroidery and scalloped hem. On her feet are a pair of white knit socks and white leather shoes. In her ears are a pair of copper bead earrings. An outstanding overall presentation!

CONDITION: Excellent! She has excellent quality bisque with expert painting of features, crisp modeling and gentle coloring, The French set flirty eyes work well but they don't move to the right as far as they do to the left. The body is in great shape with original finish and just some minor and typical scuffing of the fingers. She is a darling nurse with so much sparkle! A real Charmer—she would be a perfect companion for any doll in your collection as well as the sensation of your doll club!! She is a very wonderful example of this very beautiful mold!
