Flirty dolls are among some of the most desirable bisque dolls that ever graced the doll market in the early 1900s. Not only do they have those delightful molded and painted bisque heads that we have come to love from typical child dolls, but they have quite exceptional “flirty” eyes, that glance from side to side, depending on the tilt of the head. This particular flirty doll is made by Kammer and Reinhardt and Simon & Halbig, in the ever-charming 126 mold, on a five-piece baby body. He wears a blond human hair wig, in a short style, and is adorned in a cute and classic white costume. He’s in great condition, so you can buy him with confidence! What a charmer- snatch him up now!

He has a bisque socket head, with molded and painted features: blue glass flirty eyes with tin sleep lids, painted upper and lower lashes, feathered brown flyaway brows, and an open mouth with two upper teeth. He stands at 15.5” on an antique wood and composition five-piece baby body, and wears an antique dark blond human hair wig in a short, straight style.
He wears a long white windowpane-pattern cotton baby gown, with lace trim with pink silk insertion ribbon at the collar and sleeves, and a long pink silk bow at the front. Underneath, he wears a matching onesie, with lace trim at the legs, sleeves, and collar, and pink silk insertion ribbon at the collar. On his feet are a pair of pink crochet booties, and on his head is a white plaid cotton bonnet, with lace trim at the front and a pale pink silk ribbon extending to ties.
MARKS: K STAR R / SIMON & HALBIG / 126 / 56 Germany [back of head, incised]
CONDITION: The bisque head is free of any hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration, with top-quality modeling and painting of features. The glass eyes work well on the flirting mechanism, moving from side to side with a tilt of the head. The tin sleep lids work well, and have been repainted. We recommend placing a small bundle of tissue paper inside the head when displaying the doll, to slightly push the eyes against the interior of the head, to keep them from moving about. The legs have been repainted, and there is scrubbing to the hands and some chipping at the joints. The wig is sturdy and supple, with no smoke odors. The costume is good, with only minor and typical age wear. Overall, she’s a great doll!
