This bright and beautiful little antique girl doll is just what you need! She stands at a perfect 11” tall, with a bisque Belton head, her original beautiful blue glass eyes, and an adorable expression, all trussed up in a gorgeous costume. She’s in good overall condition, so you should snatch her up as soon as you can!
She has a bisque Belton-type head, with her original blue glass set paperweight eyes, tapered black brows, and a closed, slightly pouty mouth. The head has one stringing hole in the top, stopped with cork holding the string in place, and a straight-across neck cut often found on automatons. She stands at 11” tall on a five-piece wood and composition body, with a stick torso and molded and painted shoes. She wears a curly dark blond human hair wig.
She wears a lovely red silk dress, with a dropped waist. The front of the bodice is narrowly pleated, while the skirt features wider pleats. The dress is decorated with a red belt with a bow through the gold-tone buckle at the waist, and large white lace ruffles at the collar and sleeves. Underneath, she wears a matching set of white cotton underwear: a full slip and a pair of pantaloons, both with lace trim. Her feet are painted with white and red socks, and black and gold shoes. On her head, attached to her wig, is a red silk bonnet, with a little red bow and white lace folded over the front edge.
MARKS: 102 / 2
Condition: Generally good. The bisque head has a hairline on the left side of the neck, an inherent divot on the nose, and pepper spots and other inherent marks. The head also has some rubs and wig pulls, and issues with the paint inherent to the manufacturing process. The body has minor and expected age wear. The costume is in excellent condition, with only the most minor wear.
*Please note that the price shown for this doll was calculated by factoring in the doll’s condition carefully. The doll’s condition is described fully in the "Condition" paragraph above. Any damage or flaws are carefully evaluated as to the manner in which they may reduce the retail value of this item. Unless there is some major issue we overlooked in the condition report, we decline to entertain any proposals for price reductions due to a less than perfect condition report. Most dolls that are over 100 years old will have encountered issues over the years and perfection is rare when it comes to antiques.
