While many Sonneberg German dolls strive to appear French, this little lady is unabashedly German! She reminds me of a country milkmaid, but dressed in her Sunday best antique white hand embroidered eyelet dress and matching bonnet. With her pale complexion, rosy cheeks and soulful brown eyes, she is the picture of innocence! It is indeed difficult to pinpoint her exact manufacturer, but possibilities include Wilhelm & Dehler, German manufacturers who distributed primarily in Paris, along with exports to the USA and England. What is particularly-special about her, however, is that unlike many of the French bebes, she has a top-quality wood & composition body, whereas the French bodies often fell slightly short of the German quality, often flaking and peeling. The body is in solid condition with its original finish intact. The costume makes her present very well, with nearly all of the pieces of her attire being antique save her fine quality blond mohair wig. This is the kind of girl you want in your collection! Do not miss out on such a beauty.

CONDITION: Excellent. Lovely creamy bisque with expert painting of features, very crisp modeling, pleasant color, lovely large, well matched eyes on a gentle face with a sweet expression. The head is free of hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration and is particularly-pale, with a smooth finish and great overall presentation.
