If you love Bleuettes, you will love this "Almost Bleuette". She is the correct size and period with the correct body, but the original SFBJ head is just one size to small to qualify as a real Bleuette! Nevertheless, this cute SFBJ antique bisque doll is here to please! She stands at 11.5” tall, a great cabinet size, with a molded and painted bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, and a wood & composition body, all adorned in a cute costume, and topped off with a braided brown mohair wig and sweet straw hat with flowers. She’s in good overall condition, and would make a fabulous addition to any collection. Snatch her up now before your competition snags her first!

She stands at 11.5” tall or 29cm, with a bisque socket head on a fully jointed original SFBJ composition and wood body with a 2 on the back of the torso and a 1 on the base of the foot. She has her original brown glass sleep eyes, with painted upper and lower lashes, an open mouth with four upper teeth, tapered brown brows, and a soft brown mohair wig in two sweet braids.
She wears an adorable white cotton dress, featuring eyelet detailing on the bodice, lace trim and tucks on the hem and sleeves, and pink featherstitching on the sleeves and collar. A full slip is sewn into her dress, featuring the same tucks and lace trim at the hem. Underneath, she wears a pair of short white pantaloons. On her feet are white cotton socks and flocked white shoes. Her outfit is topped off with a cute straw hat, decorated with lace and a pink flower, and her braids are tied off with white ribbons.
Mark: 25 / France / SFBJ / 60 / Paris / 10/0 / 2 (on back) / 1 (on foot)
CONDITION: Generally good. The bisque head is free of any hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration. The glass eyes sleep well, and have good pupil alignment. The bisque face does have a few minor pepper marks and mold imperfection specks; these are inherent to the bisque, and are not uncommonly found in the smaller French dolls. The body has some wear. The surface composition to the right arm has flaked off a bit, and she has a large paint crack to the composition on the left side of her back (so typical of SFBJ composition). The costume is good, with only minor wear. The wig is soft and supple and made of fine quality mohair. If you can't afford a real Bleuette, this is as close as you can get. Overall, this beautiful little girl would make a great addition to your cabinet collection!
*Please note that the price shown for this doll was calculated by factoring in the doll’s condition carefully. The doll’s condition is described fully in the "Condition" paragraph above. Any damage or flaws are carefully evaluated as to the manner in which they may reduce the retail value of this item. Unless there is some major issue we overlooked in the condition report, we decline to entertain any proposals for price reductions due to a less than perfect condition report. Most dolls that are over 100 years old will have encountered issues over the years and perfection is rare when it comes to antiques.
