What a treat this distinct 1039 Simon & Halbig is. Certainly one of the most charming examples of this model. The pale bisque, deep modeling and beautiful blue flirting eyes of this model certainly contribute to her ready appeal to most collectors of antique dolls. Her face is very sweet, with those heavy lids and smiling lips make her eerily beautiful presence is simply captivating. She can express so many moods with those flirting eyes as you can see in the many photos I have provided. In her nicely styled cream cotton dress with lace trim, pink bows and piping plus her full set of antique underwear and matching pink hat all contribute to her charming allure. And don't forget those adorable "Goldielocks" mohair curls that crown her adorable face. On her original French body, this little girl is ready to wrap you around her little finger!

Bisque socket head on a fully jointed composition and wood French Jumeau body. Large blue glass flirting eyes with real upper and painted lower lashes, multi stroke and molded brows, open mouth with four upper teeth, dimpled chin, pierced ears with lovely antique blue crystal and pink bead earrings, lovely pale blond mohair wig. Dressed a pretty antique-style cream sheer striped cotton dress with piping, lace edge trim, and pink bows lace trim at the collar and cuffs, large frilly pink hat with pink ribbon and pearl trim. She also wears an antique full slip in cream cotton with with woolen skirt (some moth holes) and a short lace edged panty, cream net socks and wonderful Jumeau-style brown leather shoes with burgundy rosettes.

CONDITION: Excellent. Practically flawless bisque with expert and delicate painting of features, crisp modeling, pleasant coloring. The eyes roll somewhat independently and may need manual positioning. The original French (Jumeau) composition and wood body with original finish and in very sturdy condition but some areas of repair and repaint particularly both hands. A gorgeous Simon & Halbig, marketed for the French trade with an exquisitely expressive face. She wears a lovely presentation costume and is ready to display! What a gorgeous doll!!!
