Poured wax shoulder head, with matching arms and legs. She has glass blue eyes, set nicely into a molded face with light detailing to the nose and mouth, which is painted closed in a pouty expression. Her original affixed blond mohair wig is in a short style. Her arms and legs are also poured wax, with molded definition to the fingers and toes. She stands at 13" tall.
This lady's costume is 100% all antique, and period-appropriate. An adorable straw and lace hat sits atop her head. She is adorned in a sweet white cotton dress, with lace trim on the collar and long sleeves, embroidered detailing on the skirt and bodice, and a pale blue ribbon sash. Underneath she wears a white cotton underwear set: full slip, half slip, and pantaloons, all edged in lace. White and blue crocheted booties adorn her feet.
MARKS: Pierotti (difficult to read, possibly added later, doll is definitely attributed to Pierotti)
CONDITION: Generally good. The wax is near-flawless, showing only the most minimal and expected signs of age that one might expect from an antique doll. The applied wig is thinning at the crown. The painted and molded details of the face have largely worn off, and the wax is beginning to soften on the hands. Her left arm has been repaired and reattached, and is slightly shorter than the right. The cloth body is clean and sturdy, with only minimal age wear. This is truly a wonderful piece of doll history, and would be a wonderful addition to any collection!
