China dolls occupy a very unique place in doll history, with their elegant maturity setting them apart from the more recent bisque-head child dolls that overwhelmed the doll market at the turn of the 20th century. This particular doll stands at a respectable 22.5” tall, with a molded china shoulder head, with blue eyes, and a very unique face that bears more expressiveness than most china dolls, meant to replicate that of a young lady, or teenage girl. She has her original china arms, and is adorned in a beautiful costume perfectly suited for an evening gathering in the 1860s. She is in great condition, and is bound to please!

She stands at 22.5” tall, with a china shoulder head, with painted and molded features: blue painted eyes, black tapered brows, a closed mouth, and a slick black hairstyle, with side “sausage”-style curls. She is on her original pink cloth body, with original china lower arms with curved fingers, and leather feet with striped socks.
She wears a high-quality, expertly-tailored vintage ensemble, with a matching top and skirt, with black velvet trim, and interesting pattern. The costume is designed in the Civil War-period style, c.1860. She wears an antique white cotton full slip and half slip underneath, with a lace front overlay.
CONDITION: Her china shoulder head is free of any hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration, with high-quality modeling and painting of features. She does have a few sparse pepper spots, here and there, but this is not uncommon for china-head dolls. This girl bears a particularly-special facial modeling, with a style meant to replicate that of a young lady. Her cloth body is good, although the upper cloth arms have been professional restored by our workshop. The china arms have high-quality modeling, with nice curved fingers; the left china arm does have a slightly-darkened hairline along its length. The leather feet do have some restoration, particularly the right foot. The costume is good, with minor and typical age wear (small spots of discoloration, and small holes or tears). The lace front does have a tear to the upper right corner.
