He stands at 14” tall, with a bisque socket head, with molded and painted features, in the K&R 122 model: he has blue glass sleep eyes, with painted upper and lower lashes, feathered brown brows, and an open mouth with two upper teeth and a tongue. He wears a brown synthetic hair brown wig, in a short style, and is on his original bent-limb composition toddler body.
He wears a blue and white cotton costume, complete with bonnet, shirt, and pants, with a white cotton antique chemise and white wool diaper underneath.
MARKS: K&R SIMON & HALBIG 122 32 [back of head, incised]
CONDITION: He does have a faint hairline to the back of the bisque socket head. Other than this, there are no other issues with the bisque, which has high-quality modeling and painting of features. The glass eyes have good pupil alignment, and sleep well, while the painting and detailing to the bisque is crisp and colorful. The body is excellent, with only the most minor and typical of wear. Truly, the body has held up wonderfully over the years, and might even be called mint condition for a doll of such age! The costume is great, with only minor wear; this is to be expected with antique and vintage doll clothing, but overall, the costume is great and presents well! This boy doll is in overall exceptional condition!
*Please note that the price shown for this doll was calculated by factoring in the doll’s condition carefully. The doll’s condition is described fully in the "Condition" paragraph above. Any damage or flaws are carefully evaluated as to the manner in which they may reduce the retail value of this item. Unless there is some major issue we overlooked in the condition report, we decline to entertain any proposals for price reductions due to a less than perfect condition report. Most dolls that are over 100 years old will have encountered issues over the years and perfection is rare when it comes to antiques.
