Motschman dolls occupy a niche area within the realm of antique dolls; their wax over paper mache constructions give them a unique presentation, specific to their earlier period of production, while bearing their own sense of charm. This particular Motschman stands at 14” tall, with a lovely open-mouth expression, with bamboo teeth, and big blue glass eyes -- wow! She is adorned in her original antique wig and costume, with original paper mache hips, specific to the Motschman dolls. She’s in great overall condition, as these types of dolls are much more susceptible to age wear over the many years -- snatch her up now!

She stands at 14” tall, with a wax over paper mache shoulder head, with molded and painted featues, with a closed-top dome head. She has glass set eyes with blue irises, original bamboo teeth, with an open mouth. She has her original body with squeaker box inside -- activate it with a gentle squeeze of the torso! The pelvis and limbs are sturdy, with cloth attachment points. She wears her original antique brown wig.
She wears a white cotton antique dress and matching slip underneath, and a matching bonnet atop her head.
CONDITION: Her wax over paper mache head is free of any major craze lines or other such damage. Due to the more fragile nature of the wax, these dolls usually have a tendency to exhibit more damage and wear over the many years, especially because they are some of the older dolls, when compared to the later bisque dolls. This particular girl has held up very well, with clean wax, and good coloring to the blushed features. Her original glass eyes are set well, with bright blue irises. All of her bamboo teeth are present. There is some wear to the plate, with some discoloration, but this is normal. The torso squeak box still works -- give it a squeeze! The cloth attachment points are still pretty sturdy, and the limbs are good, with only minor to moderate wear, which is typical. The antique costume is good, with minor to moderate wear. Overall, this is a fabulous example of the wax over paper mache dolls!
*Please note that the price shown for this doll was calculated by factoring in the doll’s condition carefully. The doll’s condition is described fully in the "Condition" paragraph above. Any damage or flaws are carefully evaluated as to the manner in which they may reduce the retail value of this item. Unless there is some major issue we overlooked in the condition report, we decline to entertain any proposals for price reductions due to a less than perfect condition report. Most dolls that are over 100 years old will have encountered issues over the years and perfection is rare when it comes to antiques.
