She stands at 9” tall, with a bisque socket head, with painted and molded features, in the classic Kestner 143 style. She has blue glass sleep eyes, with painted upper and lower lashes, feathered brows, and an open mouth with four square-cut upper teeth. She stands on her original antique composition body with bent arms and jointed legs. She wears a chocolate brown wig in a short style.
She wears her all original antique costume: a matching hat and dress, in a pale mint green with white flowery print, with white lace trim. Underneath goes a white antique cotton full slip and matching onesie, both with lace trim. White cotton socks and cream shoes adorn her feet.
MARKS: made in Germany 143 [back of head, incised]
CONDITION: Her bisque head is free of any hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration, with top-quality modeling and painting of features. She does have only the most minor and tiny cheek rub. The blue glass eyes have good pupil alignment and sleep well, while the painting and detailing to the bisque is crisp and colorful. The body is excellent, with only the most minor areas of wear to the finish. The costume is great, with only minor and typical wear; this is to be expected with antique doll clothing, but overall, the costume is great and presents well!
*Please note that the price shown for this doll was calculated by factoring in the doll’s condition carefully. The doll’s condition is described fully in the "Condition" paragraph above. Any damage or flaws are carefully evaluated as to the manner in which they may reduce the retail value of this item. Unless there is some major issue we overlooked in the condition report, we decline to entertain any proposals for price reductions due to a less than perfect condition report. Most dolls that are over 100 years old will have encountered issues over the years and perfection is rare when it comes to antiques.
