She stands at 25.5” tall, with a bisque socket head, with painted and molded features: brown glass set eyes, feathered brown brows, painted upper and lower lashes, an open mouth with four upper teeth. She is on her original antique wood and composition body, fully-jointed, with the original finish, and separate shoulder ball joints, a desirable feature. She wears a dark brown synthetic wig with bangs and banana curls.
She wears a white cotton antique dress, with elbow-length sleeves, and a lace-trimmed collar. A white cotton apron is tied in the front, while a pink lace-trimmed bonnet adorns her head. Underneath, she wears a white cotton antique full slip, and a pair of pantaloons. White socks clad her feet, and a pair of beige felt shoes.
MARKS: S&H - 1079 Germany DEP 12 [back of head, incised]
CONDITION: Her bisque head is free of any hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration, with top-quality modeling and painting of features. The painting and detailing to the bisque is crisp and colorful. The glass eyes do not sleep. The body has minor to moderate wear, with some wear at the joints, and the fingers; the left pinky seems to have been rebuilt. The costume is great, but does have some minor wear; the dress does have some minor small holes on the skirt; this is to be expected with antique and vintage doll clothing, but overall, the costume is great and presents well!
*Please note that the price shown for this doll was calculated by factoring in the doll’s condition carefully. The doll’s condition is described fully in the "Condition" paragraph above. Any damage or flaws are carefully evaluated as to the manner in which they may reduce the retail value of this item. Unless there is some major issue we overlooked in the condition report, we decline to entertain any proposals for price reductions due to a less than perfect condition report. Most dolls that are over 100 years old will have encountered issues over the years and perfection is rare when it comes to antiques.
