MARKS: 370 AM 2 DEP [back of plate, incised]
CONDITION: Generally excellent. The bisque head is free of any hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration. The back of the plate does have an inherent pink stray mark; these were not uncommon, as a result of some object scratching the bisque while it was still soft, during the firing process The glass eyes sleep well, although the eyes have a very slight misalignment; this can be resolved by stuffing the head with some tissue. The kidskin body is very good, with good structure and overall good stitching and stuffing. There is some minor to moderate wear, such as some discoloration to the kidskin, and some wear to the joints and points of articulation, and some stitch reinforcement to the cloth portion of the legs. Such wear to kidskin bodies is often expected, since it tends to wear a little harder than composition/wood bodies. The costume is generally excellent, with only minor and typical wear; they are especially nice antique pieces! The wig is soft and supple, and good for an antique, original wig. Overall, this is a beautiful doll!
*Please note that the price shown for this doll was calculated by factoring in the doll’s condition carefully. The doll’s condition is described fully in the "Condition" paragraph above. Any damage or flaws are carefully evaluated as to the manner in which they may reduce the retail value of this item. Unless there is some major issue we overlooked in the condition report, we decline to entertain any proposals for price reductions due to a less than perfect condition report. Most dolls that are over 100 years old will have encountered issues over the years and perfection is rare when it comes to antiques.
