Behold, the irresistible allure of the early Letter Kestner! The King of Dollmakers was, and still is, known for his wide variety of beautiful bisque-head dolls, which can now be found to be instant classics in any German doll collection. One of the more highly-esteemed and valued subsets of these is the early “Letter” Kestner; this particular one stands at 23.5” tall, with a creamy bisque shoulder head, with rare square-cut upper teeth, and a highly-desirable open mouth with square-cut teeth and a unique character expression. She’s on a kidskin body with pin-joints, and fabulous original fully-jointed composition arms; this combination of composition and kidskin is always a valued feature in these early bisque-head beauties. This Kestner girls has a head of vibrant blond curls, and is adorned in a cute costume that is bound to please. In stunning overall condition, this beautiful cherub deserves a place in your collection!

She has a bisque shoulder-head, with a set of brown glass sleep eyes, in their original rocker. She has painted upper and lower lashes, feathered flyaway brows, and an open mouth with four square-cut upper teeth, and a dimpled chin. She has slight blushing, on an overall pale complexion. She stands at 23.5” tall, on a kidskin body, with pin-joint knees and thighs, with stitched toes, and fully-jointed composition arms, with separately-articulated shoulder balljoints. She wears a high-quality soft mohair wig in a bright blond color.
She wears a dark brown velvet gown, with cream lace, and pink insertion ribbon. Underneath, she wears a white cotton antique full slip, with eyelet lace, and tucking down the skirt, and a matching pair of pantaloons. She wears white cotton socks and a pair of beige felt shoes.

CONDITION: Excellent! The doll’s bisque shoulderhead is free of any hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration, with a lovely set of painted and modeled features, with detailed complexion. The original brown glass sleep eyes have nice pupil alignment, with a good brown color, and they sleep well. The kidskin body is good overall, with only minor and expected age wear. The composition arms have their original finish, and are nicely-strung, with a clean finish and good pose-ability. The costume is good overall, with only some slight and normal wear. Overall, this doll is in great condition, with outstanding presentation!
