Simon & Halbig brings you this extraordinarily-rare character baby, in the desirable 1428 model! Dressed up as a dapper young boy, this large baby stands at a full height of 23”, although he will spend most of his time sitting with his excellent-condition bent-limb baby body. He has a delightfully-modeled character expression, and is adorned in a lovely costume, complete with a hat, and is topped with his original antique mohair blond wig. He does have some damage to the bisque head, so this rare doll is being offered here at an incredibly discounted price (he books for around $2700 when perfect). Snatch him up as soon as you can!

Bisque socket head, with a 15" circumference, with blue glass sleep eyes, painted upper lashes, brown brows, and an open/closed molded mouth. Blushed cheeks, with overall pale complexion. Highly-stylized character face, unique to the 1428 model. He stands on the original five-piece bent limb composition baby body, standing at 23” tall. He has his original top-quality antique blond mohair wig in a short, curly style.
He wears a brown tweed wool costume, of vintage-make, with matching trousers and jacket, along with a similarly-constructed cap (the cap is not specific to the jacket and trousers set, however). Underneath goes an antique white cotton onesie along with a pair of white cotton socks, and a pair of vintage brown suede boots with lace-up fronts.
Marks: 1428 15 [back of head, incised]
Condition: The left side of the bisque head has a two-part hairline; this is visible in the left-side head photo, so please look closely! The hairline has been restored, with reinforcing plaster on the interior of the head. There are a few tiny rubs to the facial features, such as on the nose and cheeks, but these are pretty minor. Otherwise, the bisque head is free of any other issues, including hairlines, cracks, chips, or other restoration. His blue glass sleep eyes work well on the rocker, and sleep well, with nice pupil alignment. The painting and modeling of features is top-notch, with a high-quality resulting character expression. The baby body has its original finish, with tight stringing, allowing him to sit up straight with no issues; truly, the body has remained fabulous over the many years! The body has only the most minor and expected age wear. The wig is wonderful, with a nice soft texture and supple feel, with crispy curls. The costume is good, with no issues, and only the most minor and expected of age wear. Overall, this is a fabulous doll, demanding a favored position in your collection!
