Good evening! This charming girl is hard at work on her English lesson for school. Over and over she writes the phrases on her slate, blue sleep eyes fixed in rapt concentration. So similar and yet so different from her native German! Her golden curls are tied back to be out of her way, and she wears a pretty frock of cream cotton printed with rosebuds. Her pink sash matches the ribbon in her hair. Such a studious scholar surely deserves a home of her own!
This lovely girl by Armand Marseille is a sweet choice for any new collector, or experienced collector of antique German dolls. She's a classic 390, with a bisque socket head, and her antique toddler body standing at 22.5" tall. She wears a golden curly wig, with a cute costume. She's in great overall condition -- there is no reason to not make this beauty your own.

MARKS: Made in Germany Armand Marseille 390n DRGM 246/1 A 6 M [incised, back of head]
CONDITION: Generally Excellent. The bisque head is free of any hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration. Modeling is crisp and the painting is sharp and delicate, indicative of particular care by the manufacturers. The glass eyes sleep well. The eyes are set nicely within the head, with good pupil alignment. The body is well-strung and has held up well, with the original finish. Only minor wear to the body, with some areas of light scrubbing and some touchup to some of the fingers. Costume is good, with only the most extraordinarily-minor wear here and there. Overall, a great doll in great condition!
