The EJ bebe is known by the name of its creator- Emile Jumeau. After the production of his Bebe Incassable or 'Portrait Jumeau' Emile Jumeau claimed he was so proud of the new and improved model of his famous doll, he insisted that it must bear his initials. "A face so dulcet and sweet cannot be attributed to anyone else," he is rumored to have said of his EJ bebe. And we couldn't agree more! Ironically, this small and exceptional came to us on the heels of the rare 2 over EJ that we listed last month (see photos I am posting of the two bebes together in this listing). One of the really special elements of this particular little girl's face is her similarity to the Triste bebe, which was produced simultaneously by the Jumeau firm, but never came in a size smaller than 9- or 20" tall. Have a moment to get lost in those beautiful light blue spiral eyes and appreciate her custom fitted costume made just for her of antique gross-grain pale mauve silk in a pattern used by Ernestine Jumeau to costume her favorite bebes. Everything about this petite angel is breathtaking! I know she will not be here long.
~Mademoiselle is available on layaway! Take up to 8 months to pay for her. Contact us for more photos or to discuss layaway terms? Send us an email, or give us a call at 718.859.0901 to hear an in hand description of her condition or to discuss layaway terms.~

There is a wonderful antique gold-filled taille d'epargne pin on her dress with the word "Darling" engraved on the surface..
And this bebe frock! What an ensemble it is! A gorgeous Victorian pale mauve silk bebe frock fits her like a glove, with frock coat-like jacket trimmed in floral banding and lace trim, box pleated dropped waist, , knife pleated front panel with shirred top, lace trimmed collar and sleeve, , fancy bow at the back. Underneath goes lacy antique underwear, antique tan cotton knit socks, antique french leather keystone shoes.
