"What was that?" The candle flame dances in this darling girl's hand. Was it the wind blowing through the eaves- or something else? Her blue eyes dart from side to side, scanning the darkened hallway for the source of the cold breeze. Yellow candlelight flickers off her coppery curls as she raises the light higher. She could almost be taken for a ghost herself in her white frock, also antique, with ruffles, embroidery, and a sky-blue sash. Will this teen sleuth solve the mystery? Bring her home and find out!
Seeing the success of the Mein Liebling by Kammer & Reinhardt, (not to mention just how cute the doll itself was) Cuno & Otto Dressel simply had to make their own. In a move that would no doubt result in litigation in today’s toy world, they bought a K & R 117n Mein Liebling and copied it almost exactly. This was a surprisingly common practice between doll manufacturers at the time, and this lovely example was likely displayed for sale right next to one of her K & R cousins at a toy shop. Cuno & Otto Dressel put out all the most desirable aspects of the Mein Liebling as well! This lovely girl comes on her original ‘teen-age’ high-knee body with its original finish. Her lovely glass blue eyes flirt freely from side to side and just look at that classic Mein Liebling face!

She has a bisque socket head on her beautiful fully jointed original slant hip, high-knee teenage body with original finish. Her beautiful blue glass flirty eyes have painted tin lids that descend when she sleeps. Skillfully painted upper and lower lashes, feathered brows, and peachy lips fill out her features. Her open mouth sports four pearly teeth, and that dimpled chin is perfect for a gentle love pinch! Her gorgeous bisque simply glows. Her antique hand knotted mohair wig descends in gentle curls to frame her face, while two metallic beret pins keep those locks tame.
Her lovely period appropriate antique dress has been altered to fit her, with wonderful hand embellishments: diamond shaped hand gathers at the chest, and the floral embroidery on the collar. The dress is in two parts, with a secondary skirt going over top. Beneath she wears an antique white cotton full slip and antique white cotton pantaloons hemmed with lace. Knit cream socks and blue antique leather shoes complete the ensemble.

CONDITION: Excellent! Her bisque is a really lovely quality: smooth, with pleasant coloring and expert decoration of the features. She has some typical wig pulls, and inherent darkening of the mold lines. Overall she’s in really fantastic shape. Her original high-knee, teenage body with slant hips is in excellent condition with only very minor age wear and a shiny original finish. There is some tape residue on her body. Her eyes flirt easily when she is tilted from side to side and her tin lids move freely when she reclines. All around, this girl is a home run and certainly rarer than the Kammer & Reinhardt version!
