Kestner's 143 model is a unique staple among antique dolls, marking one of the earliest examples of the "character" face, that soon took the antique doll world by storm. No longer limited to the traditional "dolly" faces of bisque head dolls, buyers and collectors eventually had access to a variety of unique and interesting faces from which to choose from, and all from a variety of firms. Yet, it is often said that it all started with Kestner's 143: those big chunky cheeks, those puckered lips with pinched corners, and that unusually-round face, all combine to make an instantly-recognizable doll. This particular girl has all of these features, along with an original finish body, standing at 13" tall, adorned in a lovely costume that will make you gasp with awe!
