While maybe not quite as well-known as Kestner or Armand Marseille, The William Goebel doll firm produced some truly charming and good quality bisque dolls to compete in the German market. Transitioning from general porcelain in 1893 to fine bisque-head dolls, the firm brought some delightful bisque-head dolls such as this lovely girl! She stands at 23.5" tall, with an all-antique costume and antique shoes, on an original finish body. She's topped with a fiery ginger red wig, in a short and soft curly mohair that truly makes her stand out! Those big blue sleep eyes are bound to take your breath away, while she presents in your collection cabinet! In an overall great condition, this girl is not one to be passed up!

Her costume is all-antique, and possibly all original. She wears a white cotton dress, with standard and eyelet embroidery, with an overall translucent appearance. Underneath goes a crisp white cotton half slip with button closure at the waist, with lace trim, and a cream cotton onesie with lace trim. Cream cotton antique socks adorn her feet, along with a pair of lovely antique shoes.
Marks: Germany B6 [back of head, incised]
Condition: Excellent. This girl has a beautiful bisque head that is free of hairlines, cracks, or restoration, and has excellent modeling, offering a beautiful dolly face that truly is alluring. She does have a few tiny, isolated rubs here and there. Some minor wig pulls to the very top of the forehead by the rim, so not noticeable. It should be noted that the painting of the nostrils is slightly out of place, but nothing major; little variations like this are what make each doll unique. The glass eyes sleep well. The body has its all original finish, and is well-strung, with no wear other than the most minor and typical age wear; overall, the body is excellent, with nice presentation. Hands are good, with only some minor wear. The costume is good overall, and presents well, in a clean damage-free condition, with only some minor wear to the delicate cotton dress.
