Paper mache head, with molded and painted features. Blue glass sleep eyes, and an open mouth with bamboo teeth. Original affixed blond curly wig in a short style. Wood and composition lower arms, hands, pelvis, lower legs, and feet. Jointed wrists and ankles. Connecting regions are cloth. Internal wooden squeaker mechanism (only barely functions). Stands at 13" tall. Wears an antique cream cotton dress with subtle stripes, and lace. A newer bonnet with lace trim sits atop her head. She wears an antique cream cotton full slip with eyelet embroidery, and matching antique pantaloons. No shoes or socks.
CONDITION: Some touchup to the areas around the eyes, eyebrows, and mouth. Eyes sleep well. Original wig is fixed to the head, only showing some of the underlying cap in some areas. The left thumb has been chipped at the edge, and painted over. General wear to the composition and paper mache, a typical issue for these Motschmanns. Cloth shows signs of age, and is fragile, especially at the torso area. Please be careful when she's on the stand; make sure the cinch holds her just underneath the armpits, and not around the cloth torso, as this can damage the cloth and tear it. The underlying squeaker/crying mechanism just barely works. Costume is good overall with no big issues; just signs of age to the antique pieces.
