For the collector of exemplary early china dolls, it is our pleasure to offer you this soft spoken china lady by the famous Lippert & Haas of Schlaggenwald, with her full trousseau. A rare and radiant pink tinted china lady, with her original ensemble plus original trousseau that has been added to over the years, I would venture to say that this is one of the most wonderfully molded and painted china ladies we have ever had. With extremely deep modeling of the eyelids, delicate blushing of the cheeks, and a fabulous set of accessories, this beautiful little lady is one investment that will just keep giving as you can choose to treasure her as is, and enjoy her splendor daily, or add to her wonderful trunk that is already chock full of only original and period appropriate goodies. That is right- there is not one newer 'filler piece' in this trousseau, it is all original or of the period. With no less than 30 antique articles in her trunk, there are endless dress-up combinations to be had; she may sport her fabulous cotton print day dress for her walks in the park with her velvet hand sewn jacket and bonnet set- and for an evening dinner with her favorite gentleman caller, her aubergine silk/wool blend gown with that fabulous decolte collar will suffice. Don't forget her sumptuous black wool and powder pink silk lined capelet! More photos to come in that daring ensemble... She will simply be the talk of your doll town. But there is really more to this beauty than just all of her luxuriant goodies- she has a sweet shyness to her face that just sets her apart from the crowd of other china dolls; she is truly a poupee de mode in many ways. We love this beauty and know that she will find a home soon! And what is more? This fabulous lady comes with our Couronne D'Or gifts and guarantees!

Madame has the finest quality of delicately pink china, a long, aristocratic neck, ice blue eyes, ruby lips, blushed cheeks, sumptuous modeling of lids, tapered dark brows, distinct lower lid, lined upper lid, very soft almost diaphanous quality of glaze; she glows softly under the light, rather than having a glassy finish that reflects light. Beautiful coloring, with extra fine detail of painting. She has her original body which has been recovered, to which she has been attached with ties rather than sewing, a common practice for these super early girls. Her right arm is her original, we believe the left might be a period appropriate replacement. We can confidently attribute her to Lippert & Haas because of the sculpting of the features and length of her neck along with the particularly pale pink coloring of the china. It is superb!
She is wearing a most outstanding printed cotton dress with two rows of daisy chain roses and forget me nots in trim decoring the front of the gown and the frock end, also around the pockets- so cute! This original gown with milk glass long shank buttons is a singular treasure- I haven't seen another dress like it with such vibrant original trim. This beautiful lady also comes with the following articles:
~A matched hat and jacket, hand-stitched with cut steal buttons in a cerise velvet that is worn but absolutely wearable and lovable.
~A wonderful aubergine colored cotton/wool blend dress with black velvet trim and bottom ruffle.
~Fabulous black cotton and quilted petal pink silk lined capelet with hood.
~Wonderful thick wool capelet with grey background and red flowers (uncertain of age)
~Beautiful grey wool capelet with partial blue silk lining.
~Sweet cotton printed apron that is original to her.
~Her many pieces of underwear include; two chemises, a wool half slip, three cotton half slips all with wonderful embroidery, a lovely pair of pantaloons, and a floral blouse.
~One of my favorite piece in her trousseau is her original night gown! We rarely come across these.
~Her beautiful oilcloth antique shoes and cotton ribbed socks.
~Additional accessories included: silver mirror with English hallmarks indicating that it was made in Birmingham, a hard to find rubber warm bottle for any of the little miss's aches and pains, a fabulous beaver muff, a wonderful antique miniature domino set, a celluloid comb, a wooden brush with pink and metalic pattern, a SUPERB chatelaine purse in working condition to open and close, as well as two handkerchiefs, one for each outfit.
With an inventory like that, any collector should jump at the opportunity to own this outstanding slice of history. What more can we say? If you are looking to furnish your own museum, this outstanding Schlaggenwald China Poupee should be on your list.
Condition: Superb. There is not one thing out of place about this lovely wigged antique china doll. She is very near to mint; save the fact that her body has been recovered, and the left arm possibly replaced. We say possibly as color and size mismatches such as this DID occur in doll factories with a sizable frequency. We think it gives her charm and character. I just have not seen another china lady quite like this before! Get her while she is still here, because examples like this go within the first week of sale, always. Feel free to contact us for more about her historical import as a museum quality doll. LBE 12.9.16. TBS 10/30/18
