My goodness, this lady is a real treat! With wax over paper mache ladies hard enough to come by in good condition, it is a surprise indeed to see such a rarely-crafted lady here with her rotating socket head. Cock her head to the left or right, or turn it to have her glance over her shoulder. Blue paperweight eyes look off into the distance, while her original blond wig comes down in curls on either side of her head. Her original cloth body and paper mache limbs hold her up tall at a height of 17.5". Her original antique costume makes her the perfect choice to stand proudly in your prized display cabinet. If you are a fan of early dolls with rarities in abundance, this is the mademoiselle for you! Do not hesitate another moment to add this beauty to your collection.

Wax over paper mache socket head on similarly-crafted shoulder plate. Head can turn left and right, and cock at an angle. Blue paperweight eyes, lightly-painted brows, and molded features. Closed mouth. Original affixed antique mohair blond wig, with sparse bangs. Net cap shows through on the top. Paper mache lower arms with curled fingers (some fingers have the edges chipped on the left hand mostly), with paper mache lower legs with painted brown boots with short heels. Cloth body. Stands at 17.5" tall.
Adorned in her all-original antique costume. Woven basket-type hat with pink silk ribbon, and fake flower adornments. Matching antique cotton ensemble in white cotton with simple black flower print: fitted top, and matching skirt. Underneath goes the all-original antique underwear: windowpane stitching cotton half slip with scalloped edge lace trim, cream wool half slip, cotton pantaloons and chemise.
CONDITION: Generally excellent. The wax head and plate have only the most minor of surfaces scratches and age wear. Some minor rubs to the nose and chin, but these are hardly noticeable. No restoration to the wax head! The paperweight eyes are good, while the eyebrow paint is clear and visible. The head turns and holds well in the socket. The original affixed wig is in good condition, but does have some sparsing at the top, exposing the net cap underneath. The cloth body has some wear, and reinforcement stitching. Both hands have some chipping to the fingertips. Paper mache feet are good. Wax dolls are among the most common to have signs of age wear, so this lady is overall rather good for her age. She is a real beauty, and presents particularly-well in her original costume. This is one doll you cannot pass up!
