Do you have a particular little all-bisque in your collection, who stuns with her presence, who demands attention? Does this little doll of yours sit in your esteemed display, in the most ornamented cabinet, on the best shelf? Treat your petite dolls like the royalty they are, with this genuine antique velvet litter. The litter was used in times as ancient as early Rome and Egypt, a form of transport in which the single occupant, usually royalty, would be carried by four individuals, one at each corner of the litter, holding it up by the handles. The clear glass enclosure of the front and sides allow the crowds to see your royal doll housed inside, putting her on display for all to see. This particular doll furniture/accessory is dated around c.1885-1892, and has held up beautifully over the many years, while having that unmistakable antique look to it that makes the presentation so valuable! This beautiful piece also looks fabulous when paired with a fashion doll for display purposes, if you like to mingle your all-bisques and your poupees.

Wooden core litter with original burgundy silk brocade overlay, with subtle embroidery. The side handles are screwed in with the original screws, and are firmly attached. Four legs. Original glass panes fit nicely into the frame. Front door with brass intricate latch, with golden tassles. Brass mold on the front top display.
Measurements: 12.5" full height: interior enclosure is just under 9". Width is 6.5" at the front, and 6" depth. The top curves inward halfway down, for a depth of 4".
CONDITION: Excellent. Original wooden carved interior is solid and sturdy. The original silk/cotton embroidered brocade is in very good condition, with only some slight wear at some of the corners, and at the handles. This is a rare find, as many of these pieces of brocade furniture tend to have replaced or partially-replaced coverings; this one is all-original. The brass detailing adds a nice pop of yellow color to the red base. Overall, this is a beautiful piece in prime display condition, ready to present your all-bisque doll.
