A small smile plays about her lips as she looks up to great her new mamma or pappa. "Bonjour," she demurely says, before returning er attention to getting dressed for the day's events. Your heart melts as you look at her, you know that you simply cannot leave her be; for it is time to play with your new favorite treasure... One of the sweetest, most fanciful, and certainly rarest Enfantine poupees we've ever met, this gorgeous little lady is a special example of a coveted c.1872 Barrois poupee on an early kid over wood body with bisque arms in a delicious museum quality silk costume. The ensemble is head-to-toe original, except for the hat, and my-oh-my does she make an impression! With some of the crispest molding, most wonderful cobalt blue eyes, and long branching lashes, her particularly dramatic presentation will stun in any vignette you might wish to display her in- but she is far more than just a pretty face and a rare model. The historically significant costume she sports makes her an especially attractive example for the collector who focuses on Victorian and Belle Epoche era fashion. Mademoisellen proudly wears her original 'Lonchambon' era dress, named for the collaborator who joined the Huret company in the early 1870's and encouraged this style of costume, the fashionable successor of the classic 'Enfantine' style of the 1850's and 60's Huret dolls; it was only produced for a few precious years and very few all original examples remain. And, as most true couture costumes, the outstanding qualities don't just extend to the exterior of the ensemble- they continue as you peel back the layers. This ensemble is made even more outstanding by the addition of her original blue silk corset- made of the same exact material, with metal grommets. I have never seen a Lonchambon era corset before! This style, soon after its introduction, developed a bustle and a more stout cut to became the classic 'Bru bebe' dress, produced at length for the chunkier Bru dolls, but for those who have the Huret Book by Francois & Danielle Theimer, more information on this rare and fleeting fashion is available on pages 193-198 (a scan can be included with the purchase of this beautiful girl.) I am extremely excited to bring this rare and alluring doll to market, and I know that she will be a one-of-a-kind addition to whatever collection she joins.

OUR GUARANTEE: Why purchase from a small family business like ours, rather than a large scale auction house or vast public company? The decision to buy an antique is a serious one. Collecting is an extremely fun and rewarding process, but we know it can get expensive and, at times, stressful, so we want you to know that we truly appreciate your patronage and interest, thus, we've compiled a list of how we endeavor to be the best at what we do, to ensure that you come away from your purchase on cloud nine of doll heaven. Because every transaction, no matter how small, means a whole lot to us, we promise to always offer you:
~Personalized Service: If you have questions, we will respond to your emails or phone calls very promptly, and do everything we can to communicate effortlessly. We know that you deserve the very best service we can provide, and we will strive to give you a stellar experience from the moment you contact us the moment you open the box and beyond.
~Clear and Concise photographs: We try to post as many as 20 photographs of our items, especially for our most expensive dolls, compared to many other places that often fail to share more than 3-4 images of even extremely pricy dolls. Though the number of pictures we can post is limited, we anticipate your needs as a collector and try to photograph every pertinent detail. We want you to know every centimeter of the item you are purchasing backwards and forwards because we have nothing to hide, and will try to address everything we can in the condition report. Want more photos? Just ask. We will send them as soon as possible.
~Flexible Layaways: We are one of the only institutions in the business to offer 1 year layaway plans on $8000+ items, and we are proud to say that we've helped thousands of clients afford the dolls of their dreams over the years... And we have 250 layaways in progress right now! When we started offering layaways years ago, very few other venues for purchasing antique dolls had such an option- and we are proud to say that we offer some of the longest and most flexible plans in the business.
~35 Years of Experience: You simply can't beat the knowledge accrued by constant research, field work, international buying trips, and 35 years of experience. As many of our returning clients can attest to, we try to know all that there is to know about our beautiful treasures- and we want to share that knowledge with the doll world so that these stories and fine objects can be enjoyed for generations to come.
~A Sterling Reputation: Just take a quick scan of our feedback and see just how happy our clients are with our service and our reputation of excellence!
~Our Full Moneyback Guarantee: Sometimes you just don't bond with a doll. That's why we offer a three day return privilege on every single item we send out. Even if you decide that the item you purchased is not the one for you, we will take it back within that period and send you a full refund. It's that simple. We promise you will be happy with your transaction with us, no matter the outcome.
**A Note On Our New 'Couronne' Three Tiered Rewards and Guarantee System**
Couronne, the French word for crown, has always been a term dear to my heart. I was born in Paris, French was my first language, and will always be my favorite way to talk about dolls. The circular nature and royal implication of the word 'couronne' make it an excellent adjective to describe the best of the best that we offer, here at Kathy Libraty's Antiques. As time goes on, I find it harder and harder to come across dolls of the highest and finest quality; and when I do have the pleasure of finding and subsequently offering them to my customers, expressing their growing rarity is difficult. Thus, we now have a way to do it in far fewer words than I have used in the past. Dolls of the highest excellence will now be offered in three tiers, each with an embossed tag expressing their level of merit:
~Couronne Dauphine D'Argent~ (Silver) To achieve the Dauphine level, a doll must be- shall we say, a cut above the pack. A doll at this level is exemplary, and would achieve Impériale or Royale status if not for a small flaw or two, acquired over her long life. These dolls are divine and stand out on their own. At this level, in addition to the doll purchased, the buyer receives a small gift, personalized thank you note, as well as a 5% off voucher for a future purchase.
~Couronne Royale D'Or~ (Gold) Dolls that achieve this level are rare, alluring, beautifully dressed and in very good condition. They exemplify everything that we look for in a doll and prize above others in a 100+ year old antique. At this level, our customers receive a small gift in addition to their package along with a personalized thank you note that is included with every doll we sell. A voucher for 7% off of your next purchase will be included.
~Couronne Impériale Platin~ (Platinum) The highest order of antique doll, a doll that is all original or otherwise exquisitely costumed . A doll that has an absolutely original body and without damage or compromise. With a doll at this level, we offer our customers a gift of antique doll jewelry, a luxury bonbon, personalized thank you note specifying the value and rarity of the item. Additionally, a voucher for 10% off of your next purchase from us. A receipt of your purchase for insurance purposes is also available upon request at this level, as well as in invitation to our Holiday Antique Doll High Tea at our home in and show room in Brooklyn, New York. *Insurance receipts are also available upon request for any doll at these levels.*
