What an adorable sweetheart this confection of a doll she is. Just look at that face with its powdery complexion and those huge blue eyes! ! Hard to find in this perfect cabinet size, this little lady is ready to impress all her new friends and family in her pretty pink dress, bonnet and antique blond human hair wig! When is the last time you have seen an early open mouth 939 with the most endearing long-face expression? And as you look at her from different angles, she takes on a different expression. Don’t let her be the one that got away!
In the book Simon & Halbig Dolls - The Artful Aspect by Jan Foulke, there is a substantial spread detailing the importance of the 939 model as an integral part of the S&H family. We know her new, lucky mommy or daddy will be very proud to own her!
*Did we mention that she is available on layaway? Take up to 10 months to pay for this stunning German bebe. We know that even advanced collectors need time to pay for the top dolls that define such world class collections, and we are always happy to provide that time, unlike many other venues for buying these extraordinary works of art. Give us a call anytime at 718.859.0901 to hear an in-hand description of this 939's wonderful condition, or to discuss layaway terms. Or, if you plan to use our layaway option, just let us know when you check out before someone else snaps her up!*
She has a bisque socket head on a fully jointed composition and wood German Sonneberg doll body with jointed wrists. Gorgeous deep large cornflower blue fixed eyes with painted upper and lower lashes, multi stroked and stacked brows, open mouth with shading and accents, six upper teeth, dimpled chin, antique dark blond human hair wig,
She is dressed in a comely pink cotton dress with ruffles and lace, antique pink cotton bonnet, three layers of antique underwear, pretty cream lacy stockings and a lovely pair of white French leather shoes with metal buckles (incised CM on the soles-some re-polish). Just a delightful little presentation for this distinguished German doll from the late 1900s!
