Open your collection cabinets, and make some space, for this delightful Sammy baby is ready to take a place in your display. Kestner brought these lovely characters to the doll market, and doll collectors fall in love with them to this day. This chunky-cheeked boy is particularly-special, thanks to his RARE 100% original mohair skin wig! Usually these Sammys come with mohair, human, or synthetic pull-on wigs, but this one is set apart. The original baby body is great, while he's adorned in a cute antique dress and bonnet. The presentation value of this cutie is undeniable! If you love character babies that are just a little bit different from the rest, then this Sammy is for you!

He has a lovely bisque socket head, with a 13.5” circumference, and a wonderfully modeled expression, lending itself to a lovely character face, with deep dimples and realistic chunky face. Blue glass sleep eyes with painted upper & lower lashes, and feathered brows, and an open mouth. He is on his original five-piece composition baby body. Stands at 17.5" tall. Has the original attached mohair skin wig in blond.
He wears an antique white cotton baby gown with lace trim and frontal tucking (closes in the back with buttons), with a matching antique white bonnet with lace trim. Underneath goes an antique white cotton full slip with delicate lace trim (must use pins to close), white diaper, and pink knit booties.
Marks: K made in 14 Germany JDK 211
Condition: Excellent. The bisque head is free of any hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration. The modeling is sweet and crisp, with a great expression. The paint is smooth and excellent, with only a minor rub to the right cheek, and some dark rubs to the forehead. The skin wig has some wear, with some slight patching to the top, and the back of the wig has been partially peeled to be able to show the mark underneath, and to ensure no hidden bisque damage. The glass eyes sleep well. The composition body has its original pink finish, with only some minor expected wear to the hands. No fingers are chipped or missing, which is great. Antique costume is nice, with great presentation. The bottom of the dress has a minor tearing of the lace trim, where it's pulled a bit from the cotton. Otherwise, the costume is overall great.
