DELICIOUS 21" JDK Kestner Character Baby With Extreme Deep Modeling~ MINT BISQUE
What a work of art this exquisite baby is! With some of the most delicate, sculptural modeling we've ever seen on a baby, this JDK is a textbook example of German Character excellence. Smooth, powdery bisque forms a most delighted, smiling face with gorgeous light blond brows, deeply sculpted ears and airbrushed hair... you can almost hear her laughter! An excellent exhibition of the best of what is offered by the "king of dollmakers," Kestners of this quality just don't come along every day! At a chunky 21" she is bound to please, with a beautiful expression and original body, wearing a most lovely antique costume. This baby is JUST what you need in the collection, drawing love and attention either from behind the glass cabinet, or up close and personal in an antique carriage or stroller!
***This beautiful baby is indeed available on layaway! Please give us a call at 718-859-0901 to discuss payment options or layaway terms, or to discuss the doll!***
Solid dome head with excellent modeling and painting of features, SUPER deep modeling of features makes her an excellent with molded and airbrushed hair. Blue glass fixed eyes that simply glow with light and life, rimmed with dark eyecuts and painted lashes, feathered brows, and an open mouth with two lower teeth, and delicately blushed cheeks. A stunning face with the most creamy, powdery bisque. On the original composition baby body with bent limbs, standing at 21" tall. What a presentation she makes!
This sweet girl wears an antique white cotton baby gown with tons of the little details that just make doll lovers swoon! Eyelet and embroidery designs span the entire 32" of the skirt length with a super spectacular hem (minor wear, a bit big on her but it looks very good and is in excellent condition.) Underneath this she has an even more extraordinary early full slip with an extraordinary triple layer of white on white embroidered panels with lace insertion in between along with a double scalloped edge with some staining and wear. Fabulous antique over the knee booties with poms, a diaper, a ribbed cotton onsie complete the ensemble. She has a beautiful little baby jacket delicately knit of cream and light blue, and is completed with a lace ruffled trim.
MARKS: JDK Made in 16 Germany
CONDITION: Excellent condition! She is free of any hairlines, or cracks, chips, or restoration to her bisque head. The painting and modeling is excellent, and the glass eyes are in excellent condition, but they are set. The composition baby body us very good, with no flaking or crazing; the hands have been repainted as is typical for these babies, but it was very well done. Normally, I would price her $1500 in such immaculate condition, but for now she is on sale!
