For the Huret who must have every detail just so, this exquisite fichu will not disappoint! In MINT condition, passed through the hands of time untouched, this beautiful frippery would make even the most fussy little miss light up with delight. I have handled many fabulous Huret pieces over the years, but very few quite so exquisite as this immaculate fichu, which came to us in an outstanding textile collection from Maine. The collection focused extensively on printed cottons and silks of this period and my heart simply leapt when we were offered this beautiful little treasure. The cut and sizing of this miniature version of a piece that would have been worn by a young lady in the 1860's is a perfect accessory for the carefully curated trousseau of an Enfantine by any of the prominent Napoleon III era firms (Rohmer, Blampoix, Gaultier, Most, Gaudinot etc.) My favorite detail of this shawl is the hand applied original appliqué, which was sewn on with nearly invisible microscopic stitches. You will not find another like it in any corner of the doll world. Get this treasure before it is off to another home!

Measurements: This lush fichu measures 24" in length, 1.5" in diameter at the thinnest section, and 3" at the widest.
Condition: Mint. This beautiful fichu is as close to mint as I have seen any 150 year old cotton textile. The construction is simply divine; a delicate slope from the thinnest center section to the thick lapettes which swoop with such expertise. The three dimensionality of the raised appliqué is simply sumptuous. A singular piece for a doll that must have the best!

**We now ship EVERY SINGLE ONE of our antique costume pieces in archival, museum quality, acid free tissue paper. We store them in an acid free, climate controlled environment, because we want you to get a textile that has been frozen in time. As curators of these antiques, we know how important it is for them to be as fresh for the next generation of students and enthusiasts as they were for us. This is factored into the price of our merchandise. We hope you can enjoy these rare finds for years to come, and we want to make sure that when they reach you, they are ready for careful love and display if you so chose, or to be stored in a destruction-free paper. Happy shopping!**
