You will be smiling with joy once you open up the box containing this adorable gem! This darling little Sammy baby by Kestner is just begging for love and attention -- look at that face! Standing at 16" tall, this Sammy baby is an excellent example of the 211 Kestner character, who was likely a favorite among children and doll collector's of the time. Even to this day, these chunky-faced cherubs really brighten up any collection with their unique expression and presentation. This one is on the original body with nice finish, with a damage-free head, and a nice antique costume, and original antique wig. Truly, this baby will make an excellent addition to the baby-lover's collection.

Lovely bisque socket head, with a 11.5” circumference, and a wonderfully modeled expression, lending itself to a lovely character face, with deep dimples and realistic chunky face. Brown glass sleep eyes with painted upper & lower lashes, and feathered flyaway brows, and an open mouth with two lower teeth. Wears the original antique mohair wig in a short, brown style. On the original five-piece composition baby body, original finish. Stands at 16" tall.
Wears a white cotton antique dress with lace trim and embroidery. White cotton lace-trimmed bonnet, white cotton full slip (antique as well), with diaper and pink knit booties.
Marks: H made in 12 Germany 211 JDK
Condition: Excellent. The bisque head is free of any hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration. The modeling is sweet and crisp, with a great expression. The paint is smooth and excellent, with only some very minor pepper spots to the forehead -- overall not noticeable. The stringing on the body is nice and tight. The glass eyes sleep well. The composition body has its original finish, with only a tiny bit of repaint to the top of the left hand.
