One of the sweetest Early Kestners I've had in a while, this cabinet example is a prime opportunity for someone who wants to expand the early German Girls wing of their collection! I love the overall presentation of her antique blue and white striped dress and her pale blue fixed eyes. With her original mohair wig and her excellent original body, this sweet girl will not be here long...
~We are offering this sweet girl on layaway for up to 8 months! What a treat she is... Just let us know at checkout that you need time to pay for her or give us a call at 718.859.0901 if you have any questions about her. And she ships for free in the US!~
Bisque socket head on a fully jointed composition and wood body with signed Germany Kestner body. Beautiful original blue fixed eyes with painted upper and lower lashes, multi stroke flat brows, slightly open mouth with four square cut upper teeth, shading and accents on lips, original antique blond mohair wig.
She is dressed in her original white cotton dress with blue vertical stripes, dropped waist, stitched details at the upper torso, lace trim and blue silk waist sash, complete set of antique cotton undergarments including an embroidery trimmed chemise, a half slip and tatted edge pantaloons, black stockings and antique black oilcloth shoes with metal buckles (one size too large), a fabulous antique straw bonnet with red velvet edge trim, red velvet band, applied blue velvet flower and small red blossoms and finished off with an antique bar pin on her dress! Just a stupendous presentation for this diminutive treasure de-accessioned from my personal collection of choice antique Kestner dolls!
MARKS: on upper rear crown: 7
CONDITION: Excellent. Beautiful glowing bisque with pleasant color, finely painted features, well modeled face with alert expression with full cheek modeling. The body in excellent original finish condition but showing some typical age wear and the right hand is an antique replacement. She has and inquisitive, intelligent look and is so full of mystery. If only she could tell us of her previous owners! She is sure to touch your heart! LBK-6-23-2016
