One look at this extraordinary doll, and it comes as no surprise that the 19th century Jumeau manufacturing company was, and still is, seen as a purveyor of some of the finest, most exquisite gems in the doll market. This beauty, at a very fine size of 22" tall, is dressed in lovely antique clothing, and is designed in every possible way to be a valued prize in the cabinet of whoever is keen enough to snatch her up. Thick, lush brows and lashes frame a pair of gorgeous, deep blue eyes that bear the most magical allure. She has that very special face that I know I look for in beautiful bisque dolls, and I'm sure the same can be said for my lovely customers. But we must remember that this extraordinary doll is simply more than just another pretty face- she is an integral piece of history for the Jumeau firm. The original trade mark for the Bebe Francais was registered to Danel et Cie company in 1891, and was assumed by Jumeau after Emile-Louis Jumeau won his intellectual property suit against Danel for the theft of the mold for the Paris Bebe. Danel had plans to release a Bebe Francais doll (which was lifted from Jumeau's 225 model of the 200 character series), but was unable to after the lawsuit against his company was lost, so, rather than lose out on a perfectly viable marketing opportunity, Jumeau went ahead and manufactured the doll of his own volition. Shops such as Au Nain Bleu sold the dolls, and they were a popular addition to the flourishing Jumeau line, but there were limited quantities of these beautiful Bebes produced, hence our excitement in introducing this girl to the market! For more information on her, please see pages 350-351, page scans are available with the purchase of this fabulous lady! This angel is not one you want to risk passing up. She is available on a layaway plan, so you can take up to ten months to pay for this beauty without worrying about someone else snatching her up while you budget. Get her before she is gone for good.
