A most delightful poupee from the mid 1870's, this beautiful girl in her all antique presentation will just enchant all who are lucky enough to gaze upon her. With big blue paperweight eyes, wonderful milky bisque featuring beautiful coloring and delicate blush, she is most jubilant in her wonderful antique cotton dress with all the fine antique fixings like velvet trim, ruching, a massive red straw bonnet, and tons of plumage, we could not imagine a more picturesque German poupee! Especially notable as this early ABG is from the 1870's, she certainly seems to be inspired by the works of Huret, Blampoix or Rohmer because of her chunky face and slender, young teen body. If you are one of those collectors who loves to purchase expensive French dolls, as well as their influenced German counterparts, this would be an excellent example for the French Enfantine poupee!

CONDITION: Excellent. Very fine quality bisque with pale coloring, expert decoration of features and very crisp modeling of attractive and sweet face probably meant to copy the early round face Steiner. The body in excellent original condition with very minor age wear and perfect bisque hands. Dating from the early 1880s and made for the French market to compete with the French Poupees of the same period. Very nice larger example of this closed mouth doll! Her chubby cheeks and imploring paperweight eyes are quite compelling!
