Queen Luise of Prussia herself would be proud, were she to lay her eyes upon this stunning scarf-laden Parian lady, modeled after her likeness. Queen Luise was the model for quite a few different dolls back in the day, but this one is an absolute unique beauty, with the uncommon stylization of the powder blue scarf around the head. She's even featured in the "China, Parian and Bisque German Dolls" book by Lydia Richter, on page 57 -- if you'd like scans/photos of the page, we will be happy to send them your way, just call us or send us an email! As for her lovely antique costume, the dress came from my personal collection, adorning my own personal version of this doll, as it was the only dress that had the perfect neckline to show off the beautiful headscarf, which extends down low onto the bisque plate. Standing at 20 inches tall, this parian lady surely honors the likeness of the Queen of Prussia! She can be yours, and if you would like to take your time to pay, she is indeed available on a layaway plan! We encourage you to give us a call to talk about this beautiful gem of antique doll history. Every collection needs at least one unique piece, and this girl just might be yours.

Fine and crisply-molded parian shoulder head. Face has uniquely-chunky cheeks and a rounded shape, with a pale slightly pink finish. Blond curls are delicate molded to frame the face, peeking out from underneath swaths of powder blue fabric, a molded scarf wrapped around the head. Blond feathered brows sit atop gorgeous spiral blue paperweight glass eyes, and she has a lovely closed mouth with rosy lips accented by expert paint shading, and a slight dimple to the chin. Her original kidskin body stands at 20", and has her original bisque hands, in great condition. Gusset knees. She wears her lovely antique costume: a thin-striped blue and white cotton dress with a subtle flower print, with white trim to unique peaked edge sleeves, and collar. Underneath she wears an antique underwear set: a white cotton half slip, full slip, and pantaloons with lace trim. Cream cotton knit socks and brown faux leather shoes with pale amber ties and flowerettes and edge stitching.
Condition: Generally Excellent. She does have a very faint hairline to the front collar of the scarf, moving down into the front of the plate under the kidskin. The line is very stable due to its position, however, and gives no sign of moving or further impacting the integrity of the bisque. Otherwise, she has no such damage, such as chips or restoration. The glass eyes are lovely and sparkle, with no fissures or crack damage. The scarf adds a bright splash of color to her pale features, complimenting her eyes well and giving her that otherworldly angelic look. The kidskin body has overall age wear, which is to be expected. The bisque hands are great, with no chips or hairlines. The costume is a lovely antique set that has held up beautifully over the many years, with no staining or threading to detract from the overall presentation. This girl is just fabulous, from both a presentation and condition point of view.
