The finest early Chinas and poupees in your collection will be begging you to adorn in this rare piece: an early hand-stitched c. 1850 hoop skirt. Suited for the most exquisite of your precious ladies, this piece is designed and constructed with painstaking attention to detail, with its hand-stitched construction and diamond-embroidery on each of its 49 individual panels, over its six metal hoops, which offer an excellent silhouette for any skirt or dress. The uppermost panels look like they are missing a hoop, but this is likely intentional in the construction, to avoid bunching. The waist has a hook and eye closure, and should fit your antique lady snugly about the mid-section. The cream-on-cream embroidery of the diamonds give a subtle, textured appearance that rewards the keen-eyed collector. Truly a fine piece in fabulous condition, this rare item is sure to please any collector, and the doll who is lucky enough to wear it!
