Fine French Limoges Character Lady 13" In Perfect Condition

Mme. Limoges is ~quite~ delighted to make your acquaintance! A rare art character by Limoges, the last one I was able to offer for sale was available in 2000, to give you an idea of how seldom we see these ladies (I've handled over 3000 dolls since then!) A gem in every way, if you have a few large all bisques in need of a Mamma, or some 10-12" fashion poupees that require a governess, Madame will be most delighted to oblige! In a springy cotton day dress, with a most becoming chapeau, this rare Limoges lady will be a conversation piece in any display or vignette. Get her before she is gone because I know that my clients in search of rare French characters will be particularly tempted by her rare size and excellent painting of features.

She has a bisque socket head on a five piece jointed French body. She has lovely large brown inset glass eyes with painted upper and lower lashes, feathered brows, open- closed mouth with molded upper teeth, auburn mohair wig. She is dressed in an antique ombre rose cotton dress with vertical wide stripes in mocha and patterned stripes on either side of the wide stripes, antique half slip and long antique pantaloons, black shoes and white socks. She measures 13" tall, in a rare, small size.

CONDITION: Excellent. Fine quality bisque head with skilled painting of features, pleasant color, crisp modeling of very interesting character face. Some typical graininess to the bisque. The original body is in fair condition with flaking and repaint. This rare French character woman comes to you straight from the past. Add some French Flair to your collection!
