This beautiful Baby Jean by Kestner is a real treat, an excellent exhibition of the best of what is offered by the "king of dollmakers". This baby is JUST what you need in the collection, drawing love and attention either from behind the glass cabinet, or up and personal in an antique carriage or stroller!

Solid dome head with excellent modeling and painting of features, with molded and airbrushed hair. Brown glass sleep eyes with painted lashes, feathered brows, and an open mouth with two lower teeth, and airbrushed cheeks. Dimpled chin and deep side dimples. On the original composition baby body with bent limbs, standing at 19.5" tall. She wears an antique white cotton dress with eyelet and embroidery designs, and lace trim, and insertion ribbon. MARKS: JDK Made in 16 Germany
CONDITION: There is a hairline to the back of the head, in a curved arc (see photos). Otherwise, she is free of other hairlines, or cracks, chips, or restoration to her bisque. There is some very minor rubbing to the cheeks. The painting and modeling is excellent, and the glass eyes sleep well. The composition baby body is good, with no major flaking or crazing; the hands have been repainted, with a glossy finish. Overall, a sweet girl -- if she was 100% perfect, she would demand a price of $2000, so we are glad that we could make her available to those who don't want to bother shelling out that amount! For new and experienced collectors alike, this Baby Jean is here!
