Always desirable in the perfect 'Size 0', this petite poupee is an excellent example! One of the cutest little ladies, we simply cannot get enough of these all original fashion poupees! This darling is perfect for a display of French Poupees in need of a maid or a market girl tending to a display of flowers, or paired with a French poupee boy in occupational attire, as we see from time to time. If your ladies are ready to have this sweet miss in their midst, we can assure you that she is up to the task; with a very sweet face, delicate blushing (that looks a lot more dramatic in the photos than it is in person) and beautiful blue paperweight eyes, she is pristine! The study of all original fashion poupee costumes cannot be complete without an example such as this of the fine regional dress that was translated to doll scale for a run of Poupees by Jumeau and Gaultier. The quality of her costume truly is wonderful. I especially love the playful blue and cream skirt, and her all original little hat! Just a treasure. And she is offered with our Couronne D'Or gifts and guarantees, because we know she is a prime example of excellence!
Pressed bisque socket head on a pressed bisque shoulder-plate on her original kidskin body with individually stitched and wired fingers. Fixed cornflower blue paperweight eyes with painted upper and lower lashes, thin, feathered arching brows, closed mouth slightly smiling, pierced ears with faux pearl earrings, original light blond mohair wig in original set with a pair of long five-strand plait braids over at the rear original cork pate. Dressed in a really gorgeous blue and white striped cotton skirt with black velvet bodice edged in bronze metallic trim and with red lacing at the front, white cotton shawl under the bodice, white cotton half slip, white organdy pantaloons with lace trim original factory black velvet regional hat, black net stockings and newer black silk shoes. Just a wonderful little all original fashion poupee!
CONDITION: EXCELLENT! The head is perfect as is the shoulder plate, save some minor chipping to one ear pierce hole (very typical for these ladies.) She has a wonderful pristine pale bisque head with a very beautiful, intelligent face of a young lady dressed in the traditional costume of her region, expert and delicate painting of attractive features and crisp modeling and pale coloring. The original body is also in wonderful condition showing hardly any age wear save for some typical minor soiling of the hands. The costume is also in great shape for her age. Overall, this is a wonderful piece of antique Jumeau doll history which will enhance any collection of fine antique dolls! One of the sweetest fashions ever, she is a fine example for anyone studying the regional fashions of the mid to late Victorian era in France!
